Derrick Shelby: Injured Reserve

Derrick Shelby is an NFL player who’s currently signed with the Atlanta Falcons on a four-year, $21 million contract. Derrick Shelby signed with the Falcons on March of 2016 after four years with the Miami Dolphins. Unfortunately, six games into 2016, Derrick Shelby sustained a season-shortening injury.

“Today the Falcons have promoted safety Sharrod Neasman to the active roster, while placing defensive end Derrick Shelby on injured reserve (Achilles),” began a press release from October of 2016. “Shelby was signed this offseason by the Falcons and was a solid contributor to the Falcons defense. In the first 
six games of the season, he recorded eight total tackles, two tackles for loss, two hits on the quarterback, and one pass deflection.”
