Derrick Shelby is an American football player who’s signed with
the Atlanta Falcons as a defensive end in a four-year, $21 million contract. Derrick Shelby
previously played as a Miami Dolphin and a Utah Ute, and he’s steadily earned
an excellent reputation.
“Derrick Shelby is
one of the most underrated options available,” read one press release
announcing Shelby’s contract with the Falcons. He’s tasked with improving the
team’s pass-rush, and though he sat out most of 2016 on an injury, he’s getting
more game time than ever.
“As the Falcons look to
bolster their pass-rush, some changes at defensive end could make a big
difference in that regard. Shelby, who will also spend time in side, is an
established run-stopper and developed his pass-rush skills last season in Miami,”
read another article from the Atlanta Falcons in August of 2016.
